Character interactions and party interactions are a lot more important and developed as well.Ĭombat wise they're drastically different TB vs RTwP are worlds apart in how they operate and feel. If you are into world building, lore, history and such it's hard to find a better recent series than Pillars. It's not full grimdark and dower 24/7 though, especially Deadfire. Pillars is far more grounded despite also being a fantasy setting, it treats and explores its setting and magical elements seriously.
DOS2 was a marked improvement, but still wasn't my thing. Far to irreverent and fanciful with their approach to dialogue, characters and world building. Personally I found the Divinity game's to be too weak in the writing and story department. Click to shrink.Both are excellent cRPGs, but are very different despite being in the same genre.
